Lewis Rec Celebration of Black Culture and Unity (END JUN 12)
The City of Greensboro’s Lewis Recreation Center will be hosting a Celebration of Black Culture and Unity on Friday June 12, from 6-8pm, at 3110 Forest Lawn Drive. First Responder Friday (END JUN 12)
The Greensboro Fire Department will host First Responder Friday on Friday, June 12, from 10:30am to 1:30pm at Barber Park in Greensboro. Celebrate Pollinators Day (END JUN 13)
The NC Cooperative Extension – Guilford County Center invites everyone to Celebrate Pollinators Day on Saturday, June 13, from 9am to noon, at the Karen C. Neill Demonstration Garden, 3309 Burlington Road in Greensboro. Visitors can explore more than 15 gardens showcasing gardening ideas and pollinator-friendly practices, learn about native bees, make their own bee hotel, and more. TAB Arts Center’s The Art Of Poetry Fundraiser (END JUN 13)

MUSEP Returns (END JUN 14)
Creative Greensboro’s Music for a Sunday Evening in the Park Concert Series will return for its 47th season, running from Sunday, June 14, through Sunday, August 23rd, with concerts in various park locations throughout Greensboro. Randolph County CARE and DARE Camps (END JUN 15)
This summer, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office will again offer CARE and DARE summer camps to homeschoolers and private school children, grades 2 through 7, at no cost. The camps are 8:30am to 12:30pm from July 27 to July 31, and will take place at Southmont Elementary, 2497 Southmont School Road in Asheboro. To apply by the June 15 deadline, call 336-318-6568.
Jack and Jill Juneteenth Service Day (END JUN 18)
On Thursday, June 18, 2026, more than 500 teens and adult volunteers from Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Mid-Atlantic Region will serve six Guilford County Schools in a single afternoon. Activities will include painting, organizing classrooms, assembling teacher appreciation kits, and helping prepare schools for the 2026–2027 school year. GSO Juneteenth Closings (END JUN 19)
In observance of Juneteenth, Greensboro city offices will be closed on Friday, June 19, with no trash or recycling collections. Instead, Friday’s collection will take place on Thursday, and Thursday’s collection on Wednesday. The Greensboro Public Library, History Museum, and Cultural Center will also be closed. GTA will offer regular service, and will run fare free on the 19th. All City parks, trails, and greenways remain open. For more information, visit greensboro-nc.gov.
Juneteenth Triad Farmers Market (END JUN 19)
The Triad Black Faith Leaders and Black Farmers Network will host the third annual Juneteenth Triad Farmers Market on Friday, June 19, at the Hayes-Taylor Memorial YMCA in Greensboro. This free, family-friendly event will take place from noon to 6pm, celebrating the Day Of Freedom through community engagement, local entrepreneurship, and agriculture. The City of Greensboro’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience will host Green Girls, a free four-day summer camp for middle school-age girls focused on science, sustainability, and environmental research. Now through Tuesday, June 30, Greensboro residents may apply for one of five open positions on the City’s LGBTQ+ Task Force. With the support and direction of the Human Rights Department, the group examines rules, policies, and procedures that create discriminatory barriers, while providing public education on LGBTQ+ issues. HELD GSO Presents Comedy Benefit with Maddie Wiener (END JUL 16)

GCS Expansion of Summer Meal Distribution (disc. JUL 20)
Guilford County Schools is expanding its “summer meal distribution” program for children 18 and younger. Meals to-go will now be available for pickup at Monticello-Brown Summit Elementary, Simkins Elementary, Southern Middle, and Childcare Network Daycare in High Point. GSO FD Fire Citizen’s Academy (END JUL 23)
The Greensboro Fire Department will host its annual Fire Citizens’ Academy at multiple fire stations throughout Greensboro, beginning July 23 and concluding on September 10. Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the Second Annual C.A.R.E. Classic Golf Tournament, scheduled for August 27 at 247 Pinewood Road in Asheboro. The C.A.R.E. Take Me Home
The Greensboro Police Department will be participating in the “Take Me Home” program. “Take Me Home” is a free program that allows family members and legal guardians to upload critical information for individuals with a cognitive impairment or developmental disability in the event that a registered individual encounters law enforcement or is reported missing. TRIAD Goodwill Accepts Food Donations
A lot of people don’t know this, but Triad Goodwill accepts food donations and routes them to local food banks. Non-perishable food items are collected in all 23 Donation Centers located in Guilford, Alamance, Randolph, Rockingham and Caswell counties.
